S1 Geography Field Studies

To foster students’ understanding of urban land use around our school, the Geography Department organized field trips for S1 students. During the activity, students used field evidence and geographical perspectives to identify various types of land use, draw sketches of urban features, as well as evaluate the accessibility of the area.

  

Many students mentioned that they had never used geographical perspectives to observe the neighbourhood around our school before, and some had not even visited the locations along the field route. We believe that the study of Geography is much more than jargon and magnificent landforms; it is about our daily lives. We hope that students can develop a sense of direction, distance, and belonging through this subject as early as possible.
