World Scholar’s Cup (Hong Kong Regional Round 2024)
Date: 19/04/2024
We are delighted to announce the results for our participation in the World Scholar's Cup, an annual international academic tournament. This year's participation has yielded nothing short of brilliant results, creating fond memories and fostering remarkable growth among our students.
33 students from our school took part in the Hong Kong Regional Round of the tournament this year, and they formed 11 different teams and competed against contestants from top local and international schools in Hong Kong. After the two-day tournament, not only did they make excellent achievements, but 10 of the teams achieved scores high enough to qualify for the Global Round taking place in Seoul this summer.
In particular, among approximately 140 teams in the round, one of our teams achieved the 16th place in debating. In terms of individual awards, one of our scholars achieved an impressive 32nd place. He is also placed 10th in the history challenge. Furthermore, there are scholars coming 15th in the literature and media challenge, 17th in writing, and 18th in the science and technology challenge.
All the 11 teams were awarded more than 70 medals in total during the 2-day tournament. Such an overwhelming achievement made us proud, especially considering that the vast majority of the contestants come from international schools and those under the Direct Subsidy Scheme with very rich English-speaking environments. Congratulations to all the award winners below!
