National Youth Athletic Competition – Sharing by S5E Chiu Pak Yin - 8th position in the final

I am Chiu Pak Yin from S5E and I attended the National Youth Athletic Competition in Jinzhou, Liuning from 15th to 17th May 2018. The opportunity to represent Hong Kong Athletics Team was undoubtedly an unforgettable experience for me. Not only have I broadened my horizons, but I have also gained unprecedented experience for my athletic career. The largest competition I had ever joined before was the Inter-school Athletics Competition, but the scale of the National Youth Competition really shocked me in every way. I had never seen that level of the equipment or a stadium that size before. In this competition, the level was ostensibly higher than most of the Hong Kong local competitions. Although I was not really satisfied with the result of the competition (as I only got the 8th position in the final), I acquired skills like regulating my emotions which will serve me well next time. However, I shouldn’t be disappointed at this stage because it was the first time that I competed overseas, hence I should work hard to stay at this level and achieve better results. I am looking forward to having another chance to represent the Hong Kong Team and hope that more of our students can make it too.
