Celebrating Our Legacy: Oath Ceremony for the Boys and Girls Athletics Teams

The Oath Ceremony for our Boys and Girls Athletics Teams held on 9th November 2024 was a remarkable event that brought together over 150 enthusiastic team members, dedicated teachers, and alumni. This gathering celebrated our collective passion and unity for athletics, setting a positive tone for the upcoming Inter-School Athletics Competition. 

  

The highlight of the ceremony was a sharing session featuring Principal Chen, Mr. Kwok – our legendary athletics coach – and members of the Hoi Ping Athletics Association. Mr. Kwok shared how he founded our Athletics Teams and gave us insights into the rich history and traditions that have shaped our Athletics Teams. His foresight and vision in establishing the Hoi Ping Athletics Association have been instrumental in connecting former athletes and preserving our legacy. Both Principal Chen and Mr. Kwok emphasised how athletics fosters perseverance and resilience, qualities that are essential both on and off the field. During the session, other members of the Hoi Ping Athletics Association, including former male and female athletes, recounted their inspiring journeys of competing against prestigious schools and elevating our Athletics Teams to Division 1 despite facing limited resources. 

  

Following the sharing session, team members engaged in goal-setting activities. The ceremony also featured a flag presentation ritual, symbolising unity and commitment, and concluded with the singing of our school song. This uplifting atmosphere energized all our athletes, reinforcing our collective spirit as we embark on another journey to compete in the Inter-School Athletics Competition once again in late November.
