Volunteering for Hong Kong Eye Hospital

Due to the serious and unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, most of the voluntary work has been cancelled in recent years, and thus our students could not partake in it. Fortunately, as the pandemic eased in the past few months, our students were given the opportunity to join the CUHK Jockey Club Children Eye Care Programme, which was organised by the Hong Kong Eye Hospital. 60 students volunteered from 6th August to 24th September, and all of them gained a lot through the activity.

The programme aims to advocate proactive and preventive children eye care, with special attention to the underprivileged communities. During the activity, students performed eye and more general health checks for children aged 6-11. Besides, students also made new friends, and all of them had a fruitful day in the Eye Hospital.
