Navigating the High Seas: Student Leaders Master Maritime Challenges to Build Resilience

Date: 05/09/2026

On 5th September 2026, 37 of our most promising student leaders set sail for an immersive maritime expedition as part of the Adventure-Ship Leadership Training. Jointly organised by the Extra-Curricular Activities Committee and The Boys’ Brigade, Hong Kong, this programme utilised the challenging open-sea environment to test the limits of our students’ capabilities.

Participants spent the day engaged in rigorous maritime adventures that demanded swift problem-solving, independent thinking, and seamless collaboration. Whether navigating deck operations or managing team logistics under the guidance of professional instructors, students stepped out of their comfort zones and worked harmoniously to overcome the unpredictable nature of the sea.

The journey served as a vital platform for students to internalise core values essential for effective leadership and personal growth. By tackling the physical demands of the ship, participants cultivated perseverance and a steadfast commitment to their duties. The close-quarters environment naturally encouraged mutual respect and deep empathy as team members supported one another through moments of uncertainty. Students took on diverse roles that heightened their sense of responsibility and care for the crew's well-being. By sharpening both their leadership and generic skills, these young leaders emerged with a renewed perspective on teamwork, proving that true strength lies in leading with both heart and determination.
