English Week for All

The English Week organised by the English Department began on 5th March 2024 this year and lasted for four days. To enrich the English reading culture in our school, there was a Book Fair selling a wide variety of books at discounted prices. To stimulate interest, there was a book treasure hunt at the Book Fair as well. Students were invited to find clues about reading to win a prize.

 

Teachers were invited to share their reading experience in the Morning Assembly, and the books they recommended were featured at the Book Fair—they sold very well! The highlight of the English Week had to be the Reading Talk. This year, we invited Ms. Christine Cappio to deliver the talk to S4 and S5 students. Ms. Cappio is the author of Gweimui’s Hong Kong Story and Gweimui’s Hong Kong Wet Markets. Both were bestsellers at the Book Fair as many eager students grabbed their own copies to ask Ms. Cappio for an autograph!
