Human and AI Writing Workshop

On 15th February 2025, eight students participated in the Human-AI Creative Writing Contest for Hong Kong Secondary Schools, which took place at the Education University of Hong Kong. The contest aimed to develop participants’ competence to use AI to enhance English academic writing, as well as to promote ethical use of technology. Our students attended a workshop with university experts teaching them AI capabilities and prompt engineering; during the workshop, there were numerous opportunities to learn from students from all participating schools. Our students pointed out that it was amazing to witness different learning styles unfold in the university IT lab, and were impressed by their knowledgeable peers from all over Hong Kong. It was definitely a memorable experience where they learnt from both humans and computers!
