Economics Visit to Tai Kwun, Stone Slabs Street and the Central Market
日期: 23/05/2023
On March 23, 2023, our students had the pleasure of visiting some of Hong Kong's most cherished historic sites: Tai Kwun, Stone Slabs Street, and the Central Market. As tourism is one of the pillar industries in Hong Kong, our students were excited to experience the cultural attractions that combine the best of the East and the West.
Tai Kwun, a former local police station compound, and the Central Market, a former wet market in the Central District, have both undergone heritage revitalization and reopened as heritage attractions. During the visit, our students were delighted to immerse themselves in their interesting heritage and redevelopment.
Stone Slabs Street, formerly known as Pottinger Street, is a profound old street in Hong Kong. Our students had a fun time walking along the cobblestone steps and experiencing the distinctive culture of Hong Kong.
Overall, the visit was a wonderful opportunity for our students to appreciate the historical and urban redevelopment of Hong Kong's scenic attractions. We are grateful to have been able to experience the unique cultural heritage of Hong Kong.
