Shandong Study Tour

This summer, 35 S4 and S5 students went on a 5-day study tour of Shandong jointly organised by the Chinese History and the History Department. During the tour, the students visited Qingdao and Weihai. These places used to be Germany’s colonies and the historical battlefields during the Sino Japanese War. Students visited the famous landmarks of Qingdao such as the Qingdao Beer Museum, the Qingdao Governor’s Mansion, the Dingyuan Museum and the Sino-Japanese War Museum. Not only did they have the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the history of modern China, they also learned more about the western architectural style in Qingdao. It was surely a joyful and memorable trip for all the participants.
