School Activities during the Special Vacation

日期: 28/03/2022

The pandemic remained severe during the special vacation. To maintain students’ social and emotional well-being, as well as learning motivation, a series of school activities were held.

CLASS-BASED ACTIVITIES

Class-based activities kick-started with an online preparation meeting of class teachers and the committee members of the Class Association of each class. The Class Association then led a series of online team-building activities.

WANNA MEET YOU

It consisted of two parts – class teachers’ sharing and students’ sharing. Each class was divided into two groups to facilitate a more interactive discussion.

CHOIR, A CAPPELLA & ORCHESTRA PRACTICES

“Although members cannot savour the joy of bringing their repertoires together, they are fortunate to have an individual session for the tutors to rectify their mistakes. With this dedicated session, the skills and knowledge acquired can facilitate the growth of members in their musical journey.”

Lau Yan Ho Antal (5C), Chairperson of School Orchestra

“I strongly appreciate that all of our team members are doing well and are putting lots of effort into the practice during this special holiday. Although the practice held online brings inconvenience in communication, all of us fully concentrate when practicing our own part of the others.”

Cheng Siu Kiu Callista (5C), Chairperson of A cappella

“The transition to online mode is difficult, but this gives our members a chance to enhance leadership while holding the group practice and getting a chance to learn by listening to others singing separately.”

Mau Sze Yan Eunice (4D), Chairperson of School Choir

TRAINING FOR THE ATHLETICS TEAM

“In spite of the suspension of student activities during the pandemic in the past few months, our Athletics Team relentlessly continued their training online. Under the guidance of teacher advisors and coaches, our team members have been putting in strenuous efforts, training arduously, and preparing themselves well to stay fit and perform their best in future competitions.”

Lee Clement (5D) and Sin Ka Hei (5E)

DISTRIBUTION OF ANTI-EPIDEMIC SUPPLIES TO NEEDY S6 FAMILIES

In mid-March, Hong Kong faced a lack of anti-epidemic supplies amid the surging fifth wave of COVID-19. To show care and support to our S6 DSE candidates with financial difficulties, the school prepared and posted a package of anti-epidemic supplies to families who were in need. Each package contained two Rapid Antigen Test kits and ten surgical masks.

S6 PARENTS’ SHARING

Facing the uncertainties and challenges during the pandemic, our S6 students surely needed extra care and support when sitting for the DSE exam and so did their parents. In order to show our concern and provide a platform to address parents' thoughts and feelings, the Parent Teacher Association and the Counselling Committee organised a workshop for them on 2nd April, 2022. The parents conversed deeply, got useful information, and certainly felt the warmth and genuine support given by the school.
